Performance review. What is it? And how does it work?

When you have been working for BAM Works for more than six months, you will have a performance review with your job coach. This is an opportunity to discuss how things are going at work. What challenges are you facing?

This is a good opportunity to see if you can grow further in your position. Snizhana is our Ukrainian job coach. She can speak to Ukrainian employees in their own language. One example is Natalia Chaban, a bar employee at the Rustende Jager in Biezenmortel.

Like all Ukrainian refugees, Natalia fled the country because of the war. Seven months ago, she and her family ended up in Biezenmortel in a refugee center. She quickly found work as a bar employee at Restaurant de Rustende Jager. “I am very grateful to have found such a nice boss. My boss always asks how I am feeling and if I need help with anything. I really appreciate that,” Natalia explains.

Not speaking the language of the country where you work can make things difficult. Fortunately, she can communicate with hand gestures and Google Translate. “I have learned some German and I know a few Dutch words,” says Natalia.

Language barriers are encountered with employees from every country. That is why BAM Works employs job coaches from Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, and Ukraine. Talking in your native language makes it easier to discuss any issues that may arise. We believe it is important that you continue to develop in your work.

If you have any questions in the meantime, don't wait until the performance review to discuss them. Feel free to contact us via the Plan4Flex app.
