I have been working as a truck driver in international traffic for more than ten years now.  For three years I have been seconded to a transport company in Oirschot. My journey began at BAM Works, where I learned the tricks of the trade. And when the opportunity arose to work for a Dutch transport company, I knew this was the right move for me. The Netherlands offers excellent transport routes and the advantage that English is widely spoken, which makes communication easier.

One of the things that set Holland apart, and that many drivers like myself cherish, is the availability of amenities in each company. Access to clean toilets, coffee and other conveniences is not a given in other countries. It really makes a difference in our daily life on the road.
To my future and current colleagues, I wish "szerokości," a Polish term we use to describe the qualities that make a good driver - passion, dedication, a lifestyle in the truck and genuine love for what we do. These qualities distinguish real drivers from the rest.

Our work mainly revolves around exporting and importing goods between the Netherlands, Belgium and the United Kingdom. This year, however, we have gained new opportunities by expanding our routes to Scandinavia, expanding our scope of work. It is exciting to be part of such a dynamic and ever-changing industry.

In any profession, the absence of family and loved ones is undoubtedly the most challenging aspect, and that includes us truck drivers. Separation from family weighs on my heart, and I'm sure many of my colleagues can understand that. I miss their presence and support the most during my time on the road.


Despite the challenges, there are several wonderful aspects of this job, and every driver has his favorite. For me, it is the variety of routes that keeps me busy. Every day brings new delivery and pickup locations, so I never get bored. Plus, I get to appreciate the natural beauty of the countries I travel through and immerse myself in the landscapes and cultures along the way.

Being a truck driver is more than a job; it is a way of life. It is an adventure that involves exploring new horizons, overcoming challenges and connecting with people from different walks of life. I am grateful for the experiences I have had and the relationships I have built during this journey.
And lastly to all my fellow truck drivers, keep up the courage and stay safe on the road.
